July 2012 - Norris Lake TN Fishing Report
WATER CONDITIONS
July 5, 2012 - The water elevation at midnight, July 4th was 1,016.6-feet, which is 1.4-feet lower than it was last Wednesday. The water level is predicted to drop 10-inches by midnight, Friday, July 6th. The water surface temperature in the main channel has been 82 degrees in the early mornings, but hot, sunny days have seen it rising to 88 degrees by late afternoon. Localized thunderstorms have cooled some of the creek headwaters a few degrees, but that effect has been temporary. The region suffered from record-breaking hot weather. Many of the shallower creek headwaters and protected coves saw surface temperatures reach 90 degrees. Except for the upper reaches of the Powell and Clinch arms, and the headwaters of some of the larger creek arms, the main channels have clear water.

The water surface temperature in the main channel responded to hot, sunny days and rose 5 degrees during the previous week to 80 degrees.
